15 Pictures From Behind the Scenes Will Change Your Perception about Famous Movies

Hollywood dazzles us everyday and yet we rarely get to meet or learn about the minds behind the incredible projects. Whenever we see a good film we applause the actors and director and maybe a few others. But what about those who make the impossible happen? The people who create mystery out of nowhere and bring in the big bucks

You’ll say most of that is just CGI and special effects but people forget that the magic lies in conceptualization and the credit goes those who are not afraid to take a risk. For instance, have you ever seen Deadpool’s makeup room? Or wondered how the mamba scene in Jumanji came to be. Here’s looking at some behind-the-scenes magic.

Is it the one?

You may have heard about The One ring from Lord of the Rings. This huge prop from the set was found after the filming wrapped up. Nobody really knows why or how this huge prop was used all the rings used in the movie were normal-sized. But it probably was meant for promotional purposes

Deadpool’s makeup room

Have you ever wondered what the Marvel superhero Deadpool’s makeup room looks like? It looks exactly like you’d imagine. As you know Deadpool’s actual makeup had quite a lot of prosthetic work involved. In his makeup room too you can see the prosthetic masks and a range of other products which make the magic happen

Remember this scene?

Remember this scene from I am a Legend? In the film, Will Smith played Robert Neville a scientist and the film featured a scene with Will and a vicious dog. If you take a look at the picture you will see that there was no animal involved. It was just a man with a mask with a dog prop

Superman’s city

If you’ve ever wondered what Gotham looks like you might not get to know it at all. The fictional city of Batman was shared by Superman in the movie Batman vs Superman. Here he is seen standing facing the city. But in reality, the towering buildings and light were all created with the help of a green screen. In fact, several of the structures in the DC universe was created with the help of a green screen to give the film a moody feel

Godzilla Universe

We know the Godzilla universe makes very generous use of CGI, but the makers also work incredibly hard to make the setting a convincing one. For instance, for one of the sequences, they had to create a separate subway compartment to recreate a disaster sequence and finish the scene

Fake snake alert

This chilling scene in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was perhaps the best of the lot. It featured an actor jumping on the grass which was full of black mamba snakes. As dangerous as that sounds, the snakes were actually created later with CGI. In reality, the actor was just jumping on a lawn. In most of the scenes involving animals, Hollywood tends to add special effects, especially if they are only needed for a scene

 Game of Throne-ers get chummy

Game of Thrones is a very intense show, and yet the cast find time to spend time with each other and pose for pictures. In this picture for instance, Khaleesi aka Emilia Clarke hangs out with her crew of extras moments after they shot a very important scene which involved a battle and a dragon, and was perhaps one of the best ones of the show

Shooting a run

Ever wondered how runs are shot in Hollywood? The actor in question is obviously moving fast, so he also needs a moving camera crew to keep up with him. This picture should tell you how it works. An actor runs through the streets, and a five-people crew capture the sequence, as they slide sideways

Hair and there

If you’ve ever wondered how do the Hollywood makeup artists manage to create such flawless looks, just take a look at this picture. Felicity Jones’ full head of dark hair was replaced by a bald wig and a few messy strands of hair were then glued on her head to give her the appearance of somebody who is just growing out her hair.

The fantastic makeup

You might be good with your makeup brushes but you might never get as good as the stylists who are creating the grey scale for Game of Thrones. In the series Grey scale is a disease which gradually turns a man into Stone. The grey scales on Ser Jorah’s body were so well done that it got audiences talking

Super costumes

Actors often need to wear the weirdest costumes in the movies so that they will be compatible with the special effects which are added later. In the Superman movie for instance, Michael Shannon who plays the supervillain Zod wore something rather ridiculous which was later transformed into an extensive spacesuit. You will notice similar costumes in MCU movies, and even in your favourite space movies where actors are often told to wear these costumes

Another one

This explosion scene from Planet of the Apes franchise should tell you all explosion sequences are played out for the screen. The actual explosion cannot be faked so it obviously has to be set-up, but it is set around a green screen set, and not in the actual location. Many of bloody battles, duels, and other extensive shots involving serious damage are set around a closed area so as to minimize the effects.

Mini London

We often see miniature sets of extensive locations created for a big budget films. Usually, they are created so that the locations can be placed more conveniently. This mini London, for instanc, was made for the Peter Pan movie which ended up looking so authentic you’d think you were really in the British capital, but just a very small version of it.

Is that a gorilla

In the movie Rampage you saw Dwayne Johnson run around with a gorilla. But what if we tell you that the ape was actually a human? Did you know the role of the rare albino gorilla was played by the actor Jason Liles who became good friends with Dwayne during the filming of the movie

Just some chilling

The apes from Planet of the Apes do not always rebel and assimilate, but sometimes enjoy pool time just like us. In this picture, for instance, the apes from the film have not taken their costumes off yet, and have made some time to relax by the pool. Because what is an outdoor location without some me-time
